The Chilean Province of the Congregation has just begun a new mission in the north of the country, in the Atacama region, next to one of the most arid deserts in the world. After a serious provincial discernment, the decision was made to found a community of insertion in the territory of the diocese of Copiapó, in that region, and particularly in the town of Diego de Almagro. At the same time, the community has assumed the responsibility for the local parish, which is called the Holy Spirit.
As established by the Province, this community seeks to live inserted among the people, preferably in peripheral sectors marked by marginality; and live from a job that combines common work tasks with classic pastoral services. But above all, this community must be marked by an intense life of fraternity and a deep spiritual life, both personal and communitarian.
The brothers designated for this new mission are the priests Enrique Moreno Laval, Gabriel Horn Feja and Javier Cárdenas Hurtado, and the religious student in pastoral year Rafael García Palomer. Enrique has been asked to assume parochial responsibility, a position already entrusted to him by the diocesan bishop on Sunday, March 19.
