Fr. Brian Vincenzo Guerrini sscc, has presented his latest book, A History of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (SSCC) in the United States of America, a work resulting from extensive research in provincial and regional archives in Hawai‘i and the west coast of the United States. The book offers a historical, chronological, and geographical overview of the SSCC presence in the country between 1830 and 2025.
Organized by states and territories, the book covers nearly two centuries of mission—158 years of effective presence—and includes images of communities, ministries, and individuals who have shaped this history. In the author’s words, the publication seeks to show the breadth and depth of the SSCC legacy in the United States, as a testimony to the missionary spirit inherited from the founders and one that continues to inspire the Congregation’s mission today.
