New Deacon Javier Yarce,sscc in Mexico (Brs)

   Our brother Javier Yarce was ordained as Deacon on 20 February in Huitiupan (Chiapas, Mexico).

   The celebration began around 12 noon, presided by Mgr Enrique Diaz, the auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of San Cristobal de las Casas.

   The provincial of Mexico, Carlos Mendoza, and the pastor, Javier Monroy, welcomed the bishop and all attendees. In turn, the bishop greeted the different communities of Huitiupan, Javier's family and all the brothers of the Congregation.

   In his homily, the Bishop recalled that the ministry of the diaconate is to the poorest and distressed, and that with the love of Jesus the poor are evangelized in one Church and one fold.

   He thanked all the parish communities for their presence and asked them to pray for the new deacon. The party continued with a meal prepared by the parishioners.
