On January 21, David Reid sscc has joined the community of the Generalate. David (72 years) is from the USA Province, and was born in Ireland. He has been called by the Superior General to be the new General postulator. In addition to handling the causes of canonization, he has the specific task to continue and conclude the critical edition of the writings of St. Damien, a task initiated by his predecessor, Alfred Bell, and actively assisted by Maria Centofanti, the Deputy General Secretary.
David was in Rome years ago for his studies in Bible: a licentiate at Biblicum University, and a doctorate at Gregorian University. He was the Provincial Superior of USA-East from 2000 to 2006, and Regional Superior of India from 2007 to 2010. In recent years he has been the parish priest in Seat Pleasant (Washington DC).
