Perpetual profession of Andrés Ordóñez Semanate (Andine)

Once again, brothers, sisters, secular branch members and parishioners gathered on Saturday, 9 July, in the parish of San Damián de Molokai, Bogotá, in the Archdiocese of Bogotá (Colombia) to accompany the perpetual profession of Andrés Ordoñez. Beforehand, the brothers had been on their annual retreat from Monday - Thursday (4-7 July) in the house of prayer of the Teresian Sisters. During the retreat they were accompanied by Raúl Pariamachi who addressed the theme: "Religious in a synodal Church".

The Eucharist was presided over by Hilvar Loyaga, the Provincial Superior of the Andina Province, who in his homily, recalled the journey of Andrés in Initial Formation in the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts and emphasised the value of the vows in today's culture, and how we are called to live our consecration for a Church in missionary outreach.

Fr. Arnoldo Fernández, current parish priest of San Damiano de Molokai, was the master of ceremonies. Around 12.30 p.m. the Eucharist ended with a word of thanksgiving from Andrés to all those present and afterwards all gathered for a fraternal sharing to celebrate this transcendent and decisive moment in the journey of this young religious.
