On the evening of 7th of June, feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we had the joy of celebrating the perpetual profession of three of our Indonesian Sisters: Natalia Rahayu, Paula Dwi Handayani and Servasa Mardiani (Ani). It was a very familial feast, in the style of the Sacred Hearts, in the parish of St. Gabriel, in Bandung, administered by our Brothers.
The Eucharist was presided by Nugroho Krisusanto, provincial of the Brothers. Accompanying our three sisters, besides their relatives, friends and parishioners, was the big Family of the SS.CC.: Sisters, Brothers and Laity. There was a significant group of Sisters, 31, from India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hawaii and the General Government. This gave the event a strong sense of Internationality, giving small hints of what the “new face of the Congregation” would be.
Our sister Jane Francis Leandro, stressed the significance today of being consecrated to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
After the celebration we enjoyed a simple but delicious meal with all the participants of the celebration in the Parish Hall. At the end, the famous Chinese Balloons were launched into the skies, rising with their lights our gratefulness to the Sacred Hearts for all we had lived.
