The international program of preparation for perpetual vows that develops in the Philippines has already completed its first month of work. The eight brothers who have gathered in the town of Cainta, along with their formators Patris Breket and Michael Hifarva, have formed a community of life and mission that has been enriched with external inputs received.
In the first week, the task focused on mutual knowledge, to assume the housework and to develop a project of life for the community.
In the second week, participants were invited to make a tour of the various stages of initial formation in the Congregation, with contributions from Santhosh Thottankara, Pankras Olak and Enrique Moreno.
In the third week, they were accompanied by the Superior General Javier Álvarez-Ossorio, who worked with them the spiritual journey SSCC and informed them about the reality of the Congregation and its current challenges.
In the fourth week, they have been accompanied by Richard McNally, who presented them the fundamental elements of our consecration to the Sacred Hearts.
All this task includes every week a pastoral visit to nearby places, where people reside because of their poverty, disability or social exclusion.
In the following weeks, the eight participants of the program will be invited to reflect on the lives of our “heroes and heroines SSCC”. Among these, Damien of Molokai, Eustaquio van Lieshout, the Martyrs of Spain, Esteban Gumucio, Rolf Reichenbach and General Superiors men and women, who have accompanied the path of the Congregation.
