The SSCC sisters and brothers who accompanied the Poitiers Session 2026 met on July 29 at the Pierre Coudrin community in Picpus (Paris) to carry out the final evaluation of this formative experience, which brought together 29 participants from 14 nationalities along an itinerary through Picpus, Belgium, and Poitiers.
The accompaniment team was made up of Noemí García, Jean Blaise Mwanda, Valentinus Sedu Ritan, María del Mar Pérez, Enrique Ramírez, and Fernando Cordero, who during the Session took on various tasks of animation, spiritual accompaniment, and group coordination throughout the three weeks of the itinerary, in which the sscc religious consecration was explored in depth.
The evaluation meeting comes just two days after the official closing of the Session, which concluded on Monday, July 27 with a day centered on spiritual conversation, facilitated by Noemí García sscc using the method promoted by Pope Francis, which included personal prayer time, small-group sharing, and an individual evaluation open to participants — as well as the closing Eucharist, presided over by Jean Blaise Mwanda sscc.
Now gathered in Picpus, the accompaniment team shared their perspectives on how the program unfolded: the connecting thread between visits and thematic deepening, the approach of the talks, group cohesion, accommodation and travel logistics, and key points for improving the next edition of the Poitiers Session.
This gathering follows the usual pattern after this kind of experience: collecting feedback from those who coordinated the process in order to consolidate lessons for future editions, on an itinerary that this year took participants to foundational sites such as La Motte d'Usseau, the Grand'Maison, and Montbernage, among others — as well as the extraordinary welcome from the local sscc communities of brothers and sisters in Belgium and France, to whom the accompaniment team once again expresses its gratitude, in the evaluation, for their extraordinary effort and hospitality that made the Session's success possible.
