Social protests have left 47 people dead in Peru. For this reason, on the evening of 11 January, a Prayer Vigil organised by the Interreligious Council of Peru (Religions for Peace) was held in the Recoleta convent of the Sacred Hearts (Lima), under the slogan "Stop the violence now!
Representatives of various communities of faith and spirituality in the country took part. With their candles lit, the participants prayed for a country that longs for peace with justice and reconciliation.
