Presbyteral ordinations in Kinshasa (Brs)

We met on Sunday, 08 October, in the parish of Mary Help of Christians, Masina Petro-Congo, Kinshasa, for the celebration of the diaconal and presbyteral ordinations of the religious of different congregations organized by the Association of Major Superiors (ASUMA, in acronyms). Among the ordained were two of our sscc brothers: Colin KIPULU and Maxime Paterne MENGA, both ordained priests by the laying on of the hands of Monsignor Edouard KISONGA, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa.

During his exhortation, the bishop insisted on the sense of service that characterizes the priest and the deacon. One does not become a priest to serve oneself or to seek his own interests, but to serve the people of God, our brothers and sisters, who have confidence that we will do that. In this way, the bishop reminded the candidates, the priesthood becomes an effective means for sanctification not only of the people but also and especially of the priest himself.

After Mass, brothers, sisters, lay Sacred Hearts and the various guests gathered in the multipurpose hall of the parish of Saint Francis Xavier to share a glass of friendship in honor of our two brothers. The festival was enhanced not only by the classical but also by the traditional music of a Yansi orchestra, which was returning to the province of Bandundu now become province of Kwilu. Everything took place in a TOKOSS atmosphere, despite the fact that “Brother Sun” did not respond to our invitation. Imagine yourself at a party without him ... out of sight!  May the Lord continue in our brothers the work already begun.
