On December 6, in Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Harlingen (Texas), our brother Gaberieli Saunivalu sscc was ordained a priest by Monsignor Daniel Flores, bishop of Brownsville, in a joyful and festive celebration, within the Advent season, a time of hope for the whole Church. Several SSCC priests and religious concelebrated, among them Lane Akiona, Provincial Superior of the United States.
At the end of the Eucharist, Gaberieli gave thanks to God in Spanish and English, especially to the parish community of Queen of Peace, where he has felt loved and accompanied over the past two years. Here he learned to speak Spanish and to feel welcomed even in his mistakes.
In the afternoon of December 6, in the same Parish, Father Gaberieli celebrated his first Mass with emotion and joy.
We give thanks to the Lord for this new priest at the service of the Church.
