The ordination of Michael Kumar sscc took place on August 31. This ordination is the 17th of the Indian brothers. He was ordained by Bishop Susai Manickam, Bishop of Sivagangai (Tamil Nadu).
More than 30 priests concelebrated. Alberto Toutin, who was visiting India, also attended. The bishop in his homily spoke about the ordination's motto, "I have chosen you," to say that God does not call us because we are worthy of it but rather he calls us to make us worthy of that call.
Michael celebrated his first Mass the next day in his village.
