In a beautiful celebration presided over by José Ángel Saiz Meneses, Archbishop of Seville, and concelebrated by thirty priests, Pablo Bernal Rubio sscc was ordained priest in our parish in Seville, accompanied by many ss.cc. brothers, sisters, and secular branch (among which was Pablo’s own mother), and by family, friends and lay people from many sscc presences throughout Spain.
The readings, the beautiful songs, the homily itself, were marked by two themes: the Good Shepherd and the SSCC.
The moment of prostration with the sung litanies, the imposition of the chasuble, the offering of bread and wine by Pablo’s mother and grandmother, as well as the moment of the laying on of hands were especially emotional.
At the end, in thanksgiving, Pablo addressed Jesus, acknowledging that his ordination was not in his plans, and that he does not know what God wants with it, but he allows himself to be surprised, because what he does want is to have a heart like His and love people as He does. Pablo spoke of Jesus as "the wounded shepherd."
Afterwards, a massive meal was held in the courtyard of the San José school in an atmosphere of celebration and joy.
We give thanks for this new SSCC priest in the Church.
