On the morning of Saturday, June 27, six brothers made their first profession. The celebration took place in the chapel of the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo (CB Sisters), near the international novitiate house in Pulong Bunga, Silang (Cavite).
The Provincial of Indonesia, Fr. Pankras Kraeng sscc., presided over the celebration. The six new brothers are: Joko Hermawan (Indonesian), Joseph Nguyen (Vietnamese), Jan Michael Aubeg (Filipino), Michael Cuong (Vietnamese), Hoat Le Van (Vietnamese), and Khoi Phan Van. For the past two years, they have been accompanied by Felipe Lazcano, first in the pre-novitiate in Cainta (Manila) and this year in the novitiate.
It is worth noting that the Philippines was recently incorporated into the Province of Indonesia as an area within it. The new religious will live at the Manila professed house, "Damien Formation Community" (DFC), and will pursue their theological studies.
Relatives of Jan Michael (Filipino) and of Joseph and Hoat (Vietnamese) were able to participate in the celebration. Brothers and sisters of the Sacred Hearts, priests who are friends of the newly professed, as well as candidates for the Secular Branch in the Philippines, participated in the celebration, which began with a liturgical dance performed by the ss.cc. sisters novices and was accompanied by the choir of the Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi in Pulong Bunga.
A festive meal followed the celebration of the Eucharist. A day of celebration, joy, hope, and commitment for this part of the Congregation.
