Professions in Hawaii and the beginning of the Provincial Chapter of the USA (Brs)

The novices made their first profession on Monday, November 13, in the chapel of the former orphanage in Kahili,  administered by the SSCC sisters, which today is the chapel of the San Antonio Retreat Center, The newly professed are Emmanuelle Tapucol del Castillo (of Hawaii), Patrick Joseph Tukidia (of Fiji) ) and Paulo Lui Voreqe (of Fiji).

The provincial, Johnathan Hurrell sscc presided at the Eucharist. Fr. Herman Gomes sscc gave the homily. He reminded the community that along with the joy of seeing young people who want to live the SSCC religious life, we must remember that our consecration is to hearts that are surrounded by a crown of thorns. The person who vows to give his or her life puts it at the service of the Congregation.

Family and friends of the newly professed filled the chapel together with sscc sisters and brothers. A choir magnificently accompanied a well-prepared celebration.

In the same place on the following day, the 3rd Provincial Chapter of the United States began. Felipe F. Lazcano sscc is present on behalf of the General Government. There are 21 capitulars, including the Regional Superior of California and the Regional Superior of India. The chapter will conclude on Tuesday, November 21.
