
The IV Provincial Chapter of the Province of Iberia took place from Monday, 13th - Friday 17th July in El Escorial. The Chapter consisted of 30 capitulants. One capitulant who was subject to confinement on account of Coronavirus was unable be present for most of the Chapter but was able to participate in the voting. Nuria Lobo, Coordinator of the Territory of Spain and Derek Laverty representing the General Government also attended.
The Chapter dedicated its time to revising and finalising a Strategic Provincial Plan that had been elaborated in the Province in the months leading up to the Chapter. The Strategic Provincial Plan seeks to take into account a changing world, church and Province. The plan was approved and commended to the new Provincial Government.
On Thursday, 16th July, in the afternoon, the election of the Provincial Council took place. Aurelio Cayón was elected Provincial. Pedro Miguel Gordillo was elected vicar and Enrique Losada, Francisco Cruz and José Luis Pérez were elected councillors.
