Provincial Meeting of the brothers in Germany

For the second time this year, the brothers of the German Province who were able to meet did so in Werne from 18-19 October. Like the first time - at the beginning of July this year - there was no other reason for the meeting other than the desire to come together following the long period of confinement resulting from coronavirus. The meeting began with lunch on Monday, October 18. The afternoon was dedicated to listening to each other, each community talking about its life what and seemed important to the brothers. The first day concluded with the Eucharist and a celebratory dinner.
The morning of the second day was devoted to a deeper understanding of the synodal journey of the German and universal Church. Our brother Manfred Kollig, who is part of the synodal journey, shared the dynamics of the two-year Synod in Germany. "We are ready to leave because time formed us this way and because Christ has to accompany us at today's pace if he wants to remain in our midst" (Madeleine Delbrel). This is what it is all about - being aware of the creativity of the Spirit of God who accompanies the Church in all times and in all places in a dynamic of conversion and renewal. At the Eucharist and present in a special way were those confreres who were unable to travel to Werne , such as the community of Charleroi who, for reasons of health and age, could not make the long trip.
