From January 12 to 16, the Provincial Retreat and Assembly of the Province of Mexico took place in Tetelcingo, Moleros, Mexico—an especially meaningful time of encounter, discernment, and renewal.
During these days, participants reflected deeply on the SSCC charism, the care of the inner person, and the meaning of the vow of obedience, fostering both personal and communal reflection. The gathering also provided an opportunity to identify key challenges and commit to the priorities that will guide the Province’s work and mission throughout the year, strengthening communion and apostolic zeal.
Martín Königstein ss.cc. accompanied the Province’s retreat on this occasion. He began with Saint Francis de Sales’ invitation to gently return the heart to its place and to set it in the presence of the Lord. Throughout these days, Martín drew on texts by mystics and spiritual masters, both ancient and more contemporary, to encourage us to return to the Lord. Throughout the retreat, Martín emphasized the two great themes addressed in the most recent General Chapters: care for the inner person and Mission.
Apophthegms of Evagrius Ponticus, texts by Meister Eckhart, poems by John of the Cross, writings of Madeleine Delbrêl, among others, were invaluable tools that helped us, in silence, to listen to God.
We thank Martín for these days in which he fraternally accompanied us during the Province’s Annual Retreat, and we ask that the good God bless him in his mission in Germany.
