January 2026 became a grace-filled moment for two SSCC confreres, Fr. Yohanes Antun Wardoyo sscc and Fr. Cornelis Ferry Indrianto sscc, as both celebrated their Silver Jubilee of Priesthood, 25 years of living their vocation as priests in the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts (SSCC). Precisely on January 21, 2001, both received the grace of priestly ordination from the late Bishop Hilarius Moa Nurak, SVD. The thanksgiving celebrations for their silver jubilee were held in two different places and on different dates.

On January 19, 2026, the thanksgiving Mass for the priesthood of Fr. Yohanes Antun Wardoyo sscc was celebrated at St. Matthew Station Church and attended by 12 priests and representatives of the SSCC Sisters (Sr. Agnes and Sr. Petra), who happened to be conducting vocation promotion in Lampung. After the Eucharistic celebration, the gathering continued with fellowship and dinner accompanied by entertainment.
On January 21, 2026, the 25th priestly anniversary celebration of Fr. C. Ferry Indrianto, sscc was held at St. Stephen Chapel, Sindang Sari Station, Tanjung Bintang, South Lampung. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Bishop of Tanjung Karang Diocese, Bishop Vinsensius Setiawan Triatmojo, and attended by 15 priests.
In his homily, the Bishop emphasized the spirit and fidelity of St. Agnes, who showed that faithfulness to Christ is more precious than worldly comfort, and that faith lived courageously—even from a young age—together with purity of heart, firmness of faith, and courage, is the true strength of a Christian. Likewise, he encouraged the jubilarians that this silver jubilee moment should not only be an expression of gratitude for God’s grace throughout their 25 years of priesthood, but also a motivation to remain faithful, to preserve purity of heart in their vocation, and to continue faithfully carrying out their mission as priests of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. After the Eucharistic celebration, the event continued with fellowship, dinner, and entertainment. During the program, the Bishop offered two songs for the jubilarians.
The 25th priestly anniversary celebrations were also attended by their batchmates, Fr. Alexander Dato sscc and Fr. Patrisius Breket sscc, who had earlier celebrated their silver jubilee on June 1, 2025.
On this grace-filled occasion of 25 years of priesthood, the four confreres (Fr. Yohanes Antun Wardoyo, Fr. Ferry Indrianto, and Fr. Alexander Dato) took three days for a joint retreat, January 22–25, 2026. The retreat was held at Wisma Emanuel Lawangsi. This retreat became a grace-filled opportunity for reflection and faith sharing about the gift of priesthood they had received, and also a time to pray for and strengthen one another in their vocation and mission wherever they are sent.

The four confreres shared their spiritual experiences, challenges, and hopes as religious priests who have lived their priesthood for 25 years.

Grateful for God’s grace and faithfulness in my priestly journey.

During our retreat together as one batch that has remained united since our formation years, we took time to look back on our priestly journey, sharing stories and experiences to strengthen one another. For me, the 25 years of priesthood that I celebrate in this Jubilee Year are not merely a matter of time but a journey of grace. It is a testimony that God has been faithful to me. There are many things that may not be perfect, but one thing is certain: God has never withdrawn His call.
I am grateful that I still stand at the altar not because I am strong or capable, but because of His grace. These 25 years remind me to continually renew myself, my commitment, and my responsibility as a religious. Throughout these years, there have been joys and sorrows, successes and failures, yet I see all of them as grace, and God’s faithfulness has never disappeared from my life.
I am thankful for the many people who have supported and strengthened me: community members, the faithful I serve, my family, and my batchmates. Thank you to everyone who, in their own way, has been present in my priestly pilgrimage. The strengths that sustain my priesthood are the Eucharist, prayer and adoration, obedience to God’s will, humility, readiness, and simplicity. I am happy in living my priesthood and all my missions as an SSCC religious. He makes everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

The meaning of gratitude for 25 years of priesthood

“Priesthood is an invaluable gift for me. A human person with limitations is granted the grace to take part in God’s work. Feeling unworthy, yet in the Eucharist I am raised to act in persona Christi. Even saying it makes my heart tremble. Awe at God’s goodness in the Eucharist becomes my strength and power.
I realize that what I have done is still very little compared to God’s endless love. It feels like a drop of water at the edge of a bucket. There is an abundance of grace that never runs out, always provided and offered. And I am lifted up to share that grace while also drinking from that limitless grace. Thank You, Lord. Thank you, friends.”
FR. ALEXANDER DATO SSCC
(Provincial Treasurer, Indonesia Province)
Twenty-five years of priesthood have taught me one important thing: fidelity is not the result of my own strength but the fruit of God’s grace continuously at work. I am grateful for every experience—sweet or bitter—because all of them have shaped me into the priest and religious I am today.
Starting from having no strong motivation to become a priest, I realize that God has always faithfully worked through my family, friends, and God’s people who constantly pray for me and support me in their own good ways. I truly recognize God’s work in my life. I rejoice to be a priest and religious in the SSCC Congregation. “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” (Revelation 2:10).

A Special Silver Jubilee of Priesthood
Throughout these 25 years of my priestly ministry, I have truly experienced the goodness and faithfulness of God. I feel loved in my vocation and enriched in my mission. In my fragility, weaknesses, doubts, and limitations, I have felt that God has never abandoned me. He has strengthened and guided me in abundant ways.
I have experienced God’s goodness and faithfulness through His people around me and through the many events I have encountered in my ministry as a priest. I am often unfaithful, but God is always faithful. I feel unworthy before Him, especially when I celebrate the Holy Eucharist, yet He who is faithful and holy sanctifies me and His entire Church in the Eucharist. With my right hand I bless the faithful, and God pours out His grace for the life, work, and struggles of His people.
My vocation and mission have a long history and a particular context. Therefore, I am very grateful to be able to celebrate this grace-filled Silver Jubilee of Priesthood with my family and the faithful of Sindangsari Station, where I grew up and learned to know God in my childhood; together with my classmates from Palembang Seminary: Fr. Antun, Fr. Budi, and Bishop Vincensius, Bishop of Tanjungkarang; and with my fellow confreres from the novitiate years: Fr. Alex, Fr. Patris, and Fr. Antun.
I am also grateful to celebrate this priestly anniversary with the greater SSCC family in Yogyakarta and to witness the ordination of the deacons at FTW Kentungan, followed by a community celebration with invited guests. The 25th anniversary celebration of St. Gabriel Parish Bandung seemed to be the peak of my joy. It was in this parish that I was assigned as a newly ordained priest 25 years ago. Here I learned to carry out my vocation and mission as a priest who makes present God who serves His people.
The journey of St. Gabriel Parish Bandung is proof of how God works in the midst of His people. Congratulations, people of St. Gabriel Parish! Continue to be rooted, to grow, and to bear fruit in Christ.
Thanks be to God for all Your goodness and faithfulness.
Thank you to everyone for your love, support, and prayers. God bless you.
At the end of this writing, the four brothers express their deep gratitude to the Provincial Superior and Council who welcomed them into the SSCC Congregation, and to all members of the Indonesia Province for their support.
United in one heart in SSCC
