Renewing the Commitment to Vocations (U.S.)

On the occasion of National Vocation Awareness Week, to be held from November 2 to 8, Fr. Eric Cruz sscc, Vocation Director of the U.S. Province, has addressed a message to the brothers and the entire ecclesial community, inviting them to unite in prayer and action to promote new religious vocations.

Fr. Cruz emphasized that this week represents “a moment of grace for our Congregation and for the whole Church,” and called everyone to “renew the passion for inviting others to share in our mission of contemplating, living, and proclaiming the love of God made flesh in Jesus.”

The message quotes Pope Francis, who reminds us that “every vocation is born of that gaze of love with which the Lord came to meet us… and it grows through the witness of those who live the joy of the Gospel.” It also refers to Pope Leo’s call, highlighting that although many have drifted from the faith, there remains in young people a deep thirst for God and for salvation.

The Vocation Director recalled that the promotion of vocations is a shared mission among religious, lay men and women in every community, parish, and ministry. “Each of us can sow seeds of vocation simply through our joy, witness, and presence among the people we serve,” he said.
