Retreat, Assembly and Ordination (Mexico)

From 6th-8th May, the brothers from the Mexican Province met in the San Damián Retreat Centre, Chaco, Mexico, for their spring retreat.  They were accompanied by Sister María Esther Guillén, CMST.  The theme for this retreat, as a follow on from the winter retreat, was "Our inner man is being renewed day by day". The objective of the retreat involved a sharing on how welcoming the Word of God from the experience of Saint Teresa and Saint John of the Cross can give meaning to our lives. To achieve this brothers were invited to do two things: to “enter" into themselves through silence and solitude and so encounter the uniqueness of God's love for each one; to listen to the Word of God in order to relive the experience of feeling loved by the Father in contact with the person of Jesus, submissive to the action of the Spirit.  The invitation sought to recreate the vocation of the human being to love, to be “love in action".

On Thursday, 9th September, the Provincial Assembly of Mexico presented and approved the vision for the future and an updating of the Plan for Apostolic Religious Life (PARL) for the province.

On Friday, 21st June, Brother José Rodrigo Alcántara Serrano will be ordained a deacon by Mgr. José Antonio Lerma Nolasco, auxiliary Bishop of the 7th pastoral zone of the Archdiocese of Mexico in the Holy Trinity Parish in Mexico City.
