Reunion of the Sisters of the 1980s Generation (Chile)

A spirit of fellowship, renewal and joy characterised the reunion of the Sisters of the 1980s generation.

Held at the sisters’ retreat house in Viña del Mar, the gathering provided an opportunity to share life, renew bonds and reconnect through the grateful memory of so many years of shared journey in the SSCC religious life, in a space specially prepared for reflection and fraternity.

One of the highlights of the gathering was a deeper exploration of Dilexit Nos and the “gestures of love that leave a mark”, a topic prepared by Alberto Toutin. The reflection invited the sisters to consider how small, everyday gestures of love, care and self-giving continue to give meaning to their vocation and leave a tangible mark on the lives of individuals and communities.

During those days, the sisters also shared sessions of formation and discernment on the current challenges of religious life, exploring some of the invitations set out in CLAR’s Inspiring Horizon 2025–2028, particularly those relating to hope, renewal and the building of more fraternal communities open to encounter.

It was undoubtedly a valuable opportunity to strengthen communion, give thanks for the journey so far, and continue to foster, through the spirituality of the Sacred Hearts, a religious life that is close to people, full of hope, and committed to the lives of everyone.
