Secular Branch in France and Hawaii (Brs & Srs)

Commitments and renewals of the Secular Branch in France
On 20 and 21 September 2014, the Secular Branch of France met at the Grand Maison, Poitiers. There, during the Sunday Eucharist, four new members have made their commitments: Marie Madeleine, from Usseau; Sylvie, from Poitiers; Claudie, from Saint Geroges of Noisné and Marie France Hachet from Poitiers. Four other members renewed their commitments. During those days they had a pilgrimage to Coussay and Usseau. They also elected a new board of the Secular Branch.

Commitment to the Secular Branch in Hawaii
On Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at 11:00 am, shortly after the Sisters ended their Provincial Assembly, the Secular Branch members with their coordinator Mrs. Aileen Kupihea, and the Sisters gathered in chapel for the one year Commitment of Mrs. Karen Kim to the Secular Branch, presided by Rev. Christopher Keahi sscc and Sister Regina Mary Jenkins sscc (Provincial).

Mrs. Karen Kim, mother of 9 children, some already married and youngest in elementary school, was involved as an ss.cc. Associate for two years.  Then, due to a desire for a more intense study of the ss.cc. charism,  she started to be involved also with the Secular Branch. She continues to be enriched by her involvement with the Associates, but petitioned to become a Secular Branch member.

When asked what attracts her to the Secular Branch, Karen immediately answers, “It is the emphasis on Adoration and prayer.”
