The two SSCC communities in Rome met in Via Rivarone on Friday, June 7, to celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On this occasion, in addition to the regular members of the two communities, sisters of the Solidarity Finance Commission, who were meeting at the sisters’ house in Via Aurelia, joined in.
After the usual welcoming of the guests, the Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Superior General, Alberto Toutin. In his homily, Alberto invited "brothers and sisters to help each other to root Christ ever more deeply in our hearts so that those who see us living together may experience through us that the Lord Jesus loves them unconditionally". The reality of the world, of the Church and of the Congregation was very present in the participants.
After the Eucharist there was an aperitif followed by a celebratory meal, which underlined the festive tone of the day.
The night before, as is the tradition at the General House, the brothers took their turn in nightly adoration before the tabernacle.
