We gather here some information on the various causes opened by the SSCC General Postulation before the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints.
Founders: Historical research work is progressing well. Archivist Sibylle Gardelle will begin in July 2026 a six-month campaign in the French archives to collect documentation on the Good Father. At the same time, preparations have begun for the exhumation, canonical recognition and transfer of the mortal remains of both Founders from the cemetery to the chapel at Picpus — essential steps in view of their beatification. In the case of the Good Mother, there is a healing case from Peru that appears promising from a medical standpoint, though it still requires further investigation. For the Good Father, no similar case has been reported, hence the urgent call to intensify devotion and to present to God, through his intercession, the situations of terminally ill people.
Father Esteban: On 6 October 2026, the Ordinary Session of Cardinals and Bishops of the Dicastery will take place, at which his cause will be examined. If the opinion is favourable, the file will be submitted to the Holy Father for final approval. This will also coincide with the 25th anniversary of his passing. The Tribunal of the Diocese of Iquique, in Chile, which was investigating a possible miracle obtained through his intercession, will conclude its work on 17 July; its findings are currently positive.
Father Mateo Crawley-Boevey: On 26 February 2026, the Superior General established the General Historical Commission for the pre-trial phase of the beatification process. The commission, chaired by Fr Andrzej Lukawski, held its inaugural meeting on 25 April and is working on gathering documentation on the heroic virtues and reputation for holiness of the founder of the Enthronement Work.
Blessed Father Eustaquio van Lieshout: The General Postulation has been informed of a possible miracle that took place in 2018 in Belo Horizonte: the healing of a 45-year-old woman from stage IV breast cancer — considered metastatic and incurable in the vast majority of cases. Once the necessary documentation has been submitted to Rome, the case will be assessed by medical experts of the Dicastery. A favourable opinion would open the way to a diocesan inquiry and, with it, to the long-awaited canonization of Blessed Eustaquio.
