SSCC Manquehue opens hostel for immigrants (Chile)

The Sacred Hearts School in Manquehue (Santiago, Chile) opened its doors on Tuesday, 23rd June, to offer a roof, food and shelter to 53 immigrants who are facing the health crisis that the country is experiencing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This beautiful initiative was born from the NGO Núcleo Humanitario, a foundation that works alongside the Jesuit Service of immigrants and the Chilean Catholic Institute of Migration.  The aim of the foundation is to help migrants who, for different reasons, have nowhere to spend their quarantine in our country.

Currently, the 53 immigrants are receiving care and food in the school premises. They will be there until they can return to their country.
