The Congregation of the Sacred Hearts in Chile in line with the call of Pope Francis is searching for ways to renew its 9 parishes so that they respond to the signs of the times of today. This entails a process of reflection not just involving the parish priests but also their parish councils, laity and experts.
The process began with the elaboration of a diagnostic study of the current state of the parishes and the ways in which they are organised. The results of this study, undertaken by Marcelo Alarcón Álvarez, were subsequently presented as suggestions to the Provincial Government.
Resulting from this study and by a Chapter mandate, the Provincial Council then formed a Parish Management Team, whose mission is to propose lines of action to the parishes and to accompany the parishes in the process of renewal.
This team is made up of 8 people - lay people and parish priests - who in a first meeting collated the fruits of the the study, and based on this they are visiting the parishes with the objective of jointly deciding a pastoral plan for each of them. The members of the management team are: Miguel Ángel Concha, María Ester Dávila, Keko Cárdenas, Claudio Carrasco, Víctor Córdova, Marcelo Alarcón, René Cabezón and Rafael Silva, who acts as coordinator.
