The last weekend of September was an opportunity to bring together all the communities living in Picpus for a Mass and a school year-opening aperitif.
Among the communities of the “Village de Picpus”, the “Reaseau Picpus” played a prominent role this year by leading the Mass together with the Maison Saint-Augustin, singing in particular ‘Ubi Caritas’ by Ojala Gjeilo and the ‘Irish blessing’.
After the Eucharist and aperitif among the communities, the Réseau remained in the park to share a meal in a friendly atmosphere under the sun. It was also an opportunity to thank our brother Quentin Huillard sscc for his four years of service to the Réseau. We planted a small rose bush, which he had received at his ordination, at the foot of the statue of the Sacred Heart, and it was an opportunity for everyone to consecrate themselves to the heart of Jesus.
Afterwards, some played games and relaxed, while others, guided by brother Antoine Mennecier sscc, learned about Picpus and its very holy history!
Throughout this year, the young professional students of Réseau Picpus will be invited to live out the biblical theme “Leave and go” especially by following in the footsteps of Saint Damien.
