The Annual Meeting of the European and African Conference (CEA) took place April 27 through 29 in El Escorial (Espagne). All the Provinces and Delegations were represented. Present were :
Jean Blaise Mwanda (Africae), Derek Laverty (Ireland – England), Enrique Losada (Ibérica), Jan Munsters (Delegation of Holland), Gilbert de Decker (Flanders), Christian Malrieu (France), Leszek Golczynski (Vice-Provincial of Poland), Camille Sapu (Delegation of Louvain and the General Government ), and Heinz Josef (Germany). Zbigniew Zalewski (as translator for the Vice Provincial of Poland)
The three major points of the Agenda:
- The report of each Province/Delegation
- Study of the request from Africa for initial formation
- The preparation of the enlarged General Council for the coming September
Alongside these points, the assembly had a long dialogue on the challenge of the mission in the context of Europe with all of the limitations that we have in personal and in keeping account of the revenue stream in many of the provinces.
There was an outing to Avila the holy ground of St. Therese. The Provincials closed the assembly by planning to meet in Poland next year, May 2017.
