The canonical visit to Brazil and Paraguay ended (brothers)

The canonical visit to the province of Brazil and to the Region of Paraguay ended on Thursday November 13 with the concluding meeting held in Belo Horizonte. The final Eucharist was celebrated close by the tomb of Blessed Father Eustaquio.

Alberto Toutin and Felipe F. Lazcano presented to the brothers a report of the visit. In the previous visitation, five years ago, it was said that the province was at the crossroads of a "kairos" or "decadence”. The visitors said that although the "kairos" is yet to come, some steps forward have been taken. In a special way they invited the province to deepen confidence in the action of God in themselves, to live obedience and strengthen spirituality, with particular attention to personal adoration. On the other hand, to give greater cohesion to the group it seems very important, in addition to the care of the fraternity, the development of a common missionary project, which will be one of the major themes of the next provincial chapter in January 2015.

The province currently has 34 brothers, of which 5 are in temporary vows. So far there have been six candidates, two of whom will begin their novitiate in Chile next year.

They also reported the visit to the region of Paraguay. The assembly with the Paraguayan brothers was held in Asunción on October 28. In the region live 9 brothers and has 4 candidates (one will go to the novitiate in 2015). It is a young group, with a Regional Plan and community plans updated every year. The visitors encouraged them to deepen fraternal communication, teamwork, integrating the different sensitivities existing between them.

In addition to the personal interviews with each brother, Alberto and Felipe met with communities of sisters, various groups of the Secular Branch and with many people who are in touch with the Congregation in Brazil and Paraguay. A visit of many kilometers but also with much to thank God.
