The canonical visit to the Province of Africa concluded (Brs)

The canonical visit of the General Government to the Province of Africa took place From October 15 to November 15, 2015. The two councilors, Alberto Toutin and Felipe Felix Lazcano, began the visit in the Mozambican zone, visiting the communities of Marera, Beira and Boane. They also met with our sscc sisters and members of the sscc Secular Branch.

After that visit, they moved to the area of Kinshasa (Congo). They started with the community of "La Montagne" and after that visited "Mikondo" (the house of professed and Provincial House) and finally went to the community "Father Coudrin," the house of postulants.

In each community, they met with every brother and with the local community as a whole. They accompanied the brothers in the pastoral and educative works for which they are responsible. They visited the three communities of our sscc sisters in Kinshasa: "Nzo Ngemba",  "Boboto" and "Father Damien". They also met with members of the SSCC Secular Branch.

They then met with the Initial Formation team and the Provincial Government. They concluded their visit on Sunday 15 November,  with a meeting of all the brothers of the Kinshasa area.

In their provisional report, the visitors underlined that the Province of Africa is being responsible to  a clear plan for the province. The main lines of their PARL derive from the last provincial chapter: the strengthening of community life, teamwork, clarity and monitoring of the economic management of communities and works, continuing the service to the poor.

The visitors finally encouraged the brothers to value the good journey they have come, led by the provincial superior and his council. Alberto and Felipe have animated the province to be faithful to personal daily adoration, to deepen the fraternal dialogue, to strengthen the practice of placing in common all goods and to take care of them properly, as these are entrusted to them for good service to the mission. Doing so, the brothers become the main resource upon which the province can rely to face its challenges.
