The Convent of Miranda de Ebro to reopen as a guesthouse (Ibérica)

The newspaper El Correo reports on the upcoming reopening. The historic building that once housed the Hospedería El Convento is preparing to open its doors again after years of inactivity and extensive renovations. Originally a 16th-century Franciscan convent, the property has been acquired by a hotel group formed by former students of the Sagrados Corazones school in Miranda de Ebro, who saw in this project an opportunity to revive a landmark space for the city.

The refurbishment has focused on improving the facilities—upgrading climate control systems, modernizing bathrooms and guest rooms, and renovating the reception and structural elements of the building—all while preserving its historical identity.

The new guesthouse will feature 48 rooms and aims to attract conference attendees, pilgrims, and visitors seeking cultural and spiritual experiences. The goal is to achieve a two-star hotel rating, offering comfortable and accessible services without losing the charm of its heritage setting.

This project not only seeks to breathe new life into the building but also to support the local economy and promote quality tourism in the Miranda region. The reopening is scheduled for late June or early July, and the promoters hope to reach 50% occupancy in the initial phase.
