The historic Sanctuary of Paray-le-Monial, in the heart of France, became the meeting point for thousands of pilgrims from around the world. From June 26 to 29, more than 4,000 people participated in the closing celebrations of the Jubilee marking the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque — a celebration that combined spirituality, culture, and fraternity in a deeply moving atmosphere.
The international and festive event was presided over by the Papal Legate, Cardinal François-Xavier Bustillo, and the President of the French Bishops' Conference, Archbishop Éric de Moulins-Beaufort. Numerous bishops were present, including the local ordinary, Bishop Benoît Rivière, along with representatives of various congregations such as Andrzej Lukawski, sscc., Postulator General of the Sacred Hearts. Solemn Masses, Eucharistic adoration, processions, workshops, and theatrical performances about the history of Paray-le-Monial shaped a rich program that left a lasting impression on participants.
The most anticipated moment took place in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, where, in a solemn and moving ceremony, France was consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This gesture not only honors the deep spiritual tradition of the country but also renews its commitment — and that of the Church — to the universal message of love, unity, and hope that flows from the Heart of Christ.
