Two novices on pastoral experience (USA)

The parish of Holy Name of Jesus and Mary, in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, joyfully welcomes two novices from the U.S. Province, who are taking part in a short-term pastoral assignment as part of their formation.

Brother Mark Makasini, originally from Tonga, has spent several years working in New Zealand, including serving as an English teacher. At 45, he shares that this experience allows him “to shape and strengthen his foundation” and to better prepare for priestly life within the ss.cc. congregation.

Brother Antonio Masilekaleka, from the island of Tavenuni in Fiji, is the youngest of four children and the only son. At 36, he expresses his excitement for the five weeks he will spend at the parish and his gratitude for the opportunity to share his faith and service with the community.

The presence of these two novices is a sign of hope and commitment to the evangelizing mission, strengthening the bond between the parish and the Sacred Hearts congregation.
