The 5th Vice-provincial Chapter of Ecuador is being held in Conocoto, near Quito, in the retreat house of the SSCC sisters, from 16 to 20 September 2013. The chapter is open to all the brethren with an active voice in the vice-province.
There are 14 Chapter participants, including Alex Vigueras, the provincial of Chile. Also attending is Javier Álvarez-Ossorio, Superior General, who had spent the previous week in Ecuador visiting all the communities.
Among other things, the Chapter is addressing issues such as: criteria for mission, specific pastorals (youths, vocations), proposal to create a new province with other larger communities, etc.
On Thursday 19 September, there will be the election of government for the next three years.
