VIII Meeting of the Sacred Hearts Servers (Poland)

The VIII annual meeting of altar servers from the parishes run by our Congregation was held at the Monastery of Christ the King from 1 to 3 May 2024. This year in particular, as many as 46 altar servers were present on 2 May, the day of the games. The meeting began on 1 May with a dinner at 6.30 p.m. Father Provincial Leszek Gólczynski welcomed the altar servers and their parents. Later, at 8 p.m., there was a bonfire during which we sang various songs together. The day ended with the singing of a hymn to Mother Mary.

On Thursday 2 May, after breakfast, we celebrated Mass with the Provincial presiding and giving a homily. After Mass, the sports competition began. There were 5 teams: from the parish of Our Lady Help of Christians from Wroclaw with Father Tomasz Pawlukowski, from the parish of Christ the King with Father Zdzislaw Swiniarski assisted by altar boys from Owinsk, from the parish of St. Mary Magdalene parish from Gorzanów with Father Radoslaw Ziezio, from St. Margaret Martyrs parish from Stara Lomnica with Father Józef Kucinski and from St. John the Baptist parish from Owinsk with Father Leszek Gólczynski. In all, some 150 people came together for the competition.

The Father Provincial's Cup was won this year again by the altar boys from Stara Lomnica. We warmly congratulate them. In the afternoon we went to the statue of Our Lady in the forest and sang the Litany of Loreto. In the evening we had a barbecue. On 3 May after breakfast there was a visit to the missionary museum. Later we went to Mass at the parish of Our Lady Queen of Peace where Mass was presided over and the sermon was given by Father Kamil Wawro, Provincial Vicar. After a delicious lunch, it was time to say goodbye. Our meeting together at the Monastery of Christ the King was very successful. It was a great opportunity to integrate with young people and show them our family spirit of which our Founder always spoke. We have hope that among some of those young people a vocation seed for the Congregation will grow.
