On July 11, at St. Joseph's Parish in Fairhaven, Vishal Khute sscc was ordained deacon through the laying on of hands by Bishop Edgar da Cunha of Fall River, and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
During the celebration, Bishop da Cunha reminded Dcn. Vishal of the words of the prophet Jeremiah: "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you," assuring him that God will be present with him on this new path of service.
In his homily, Bishop Edgar spoke of the importance of serving the Lord, the Church, and the people of God with joy, emphasizing that Dcn. Vishal is called to proclaim Christ to the world, wherever he is sent. Quoting St. Paul, the bishop recalled that "we hold this treasure in earthen vessels," encouraging the new deacon never to pretend to be perfect, but to trust in the grace of God that works through human frailty.
The Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary joyfully joins in this celebration.
