From 11-14 December, 2020, Eric Hernout and Jean Blaise Mwanda visited Father Angelo Marcandella in Castell’Arquato, Saint Antoine de Padua parish. As you know, Angelo recovered from Covid-19 on 6th June. In September, he was involved in a traffic accident on his way home from a mass that he had celebrated at Saint Laurent parish. He sustained a crack in his shin and his right shoulder was dislocated. In early October, Angelo celebrated his 90th birthday.
The brothers of the General House were unable to visit him when these things happened, because of the restrictive measures that the pandemic brought about. We had to wait for the right moment to visit him.
It was a time of joy and thanksgiving to God to be able to concelebrate with him the various masses, to accompany him in the house and to express our gratitude to the parishioners who took care of Angelo, in particular Giuseppe, a layman, Anna, his neighbour and the parish priest of Castell’Arquato.
We had some lovely moments of prayer and conviviality. Father Angelo expressed his thanks to the whole Congregation for the prayers said for him.
