Visit to the community of Chachapoyas (Peru)

From March 30 to 31, Enrique Ramírez sscc and Jean Blaise Mwanda sscc carried out a canonical visit to the community of Chachapoyas. After meeting with each brother, a community meeting was held. One of the topics discussed was the option for young people. These are some of the reflections:

  • In the simple, innocent, open, and generous heart of the young person, there is a great capacity to see the world with new eyes. Young people have that ability to help us live without prejudice and with a sense of wonder. The young person tells me that we must build dreams and hopes by setting aside prejudices.
  • Young people have helped me realize that there is something within me that I can offer them and that benefits them. They share their joy with me, and this generates authenticity in me. Their way of thinking and acting challenges me. They are direct, they ask questions, they seek, and they help me realize that I do not have the absolute truth. They inspire hope in me when they talk about themselves, when they dream, and when they believe they can and want to do things differently.
  • Young people seek to have community experiences. This calls us to have open houses where we can share life with them, so they can get to know us and we can get to know them.
