From May 16 to 27, Jean Blaise Mwanda visited the Delegation of Germany. From the 16th to the 25th, he was with the international community in Berlin. He shared daily life with the brothers and took part in several of their activities: Mass at the French-speaking community in Berlin, the theological reflection group (St. Thomas Parish), fraternal community life, cooking… and a visit to our brother Manfred Kollig, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Berlin. The visit to Berlin ended with a community meeting on young people: “Let us be surprised by the young.”
From May 26 to 27, the visitor participated in the assembly of the brothers of this Delegation. There were 16 brothers present, along with 2 lay people working on the Delegation’s leadership team. The theme: “80 years after the Second World War.” The occasion marked the anniversary of that tragic event, commemorated on 08/05/2025. Some of our brothers were born around that time and shared their experiences of the war. It was also a fitting moment to reflect on our own commitment to building and strengthening peace today (Jer 29:4-7). One of the first phrases of Pope Leo XIV after his election was: “Peace be with you all.”
