Our brother deacon Tavite Baleinagasau Uluilakeba sscc, 39 years old, passed away suddenly while sleeping on January 1, 2026, in Fiji. He was spending the Christmas holidays with his family.
Our brother Tavite made his temporary profession in the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts in 2021. He was ordained a deacon at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva on February 21, 2025.
May he rest in the peace of the Love of the Sacred Hearts.
From Taveuni’s shores where faith took root and grew, Through Holy Cross and St. Bede’s, his heart stayed true. Born of Isireli and Elenora, a son of noble grace, He walked with humble humor and a smile upon his face. A leader of his culture, a seafarer of the deep, Now anchored in the promises the Lord has sworn to keep. From Suva’s halls of prayer to the vows he bravely took, He wrote his life for Jesus, an open, holy book. Through shadow years of sickness, his "Yes" remained his light, From first vows to the final, he kept the Cross in sight. To the Sacred Hearts he gave himself, a Deacon called to serve, With a steady hand of kindness and a strength that did not swerve. On the Solemnity of Mary, as the New Year’s light began, God called home His servant, this gentle, faithful man. At four o’clock this morning, his earthly journey ceased, To enter through the portal of the Mother’s day of peace.
