Fr. Landry IBIL IKWEL, 34 years old, passed away on 19 May 2019 in Beira (Mozambique).
He entered the novitiate in 2008 and he was professed on 5 January 2009 in Boane (Mozambique).
He was ordained as a priest in Kinshasa (R. D. Congo) on 7 February 2016.
"In the face of the death of our brother Landry Ibil Ikwel in Beira Hospital (Mozambique) following a brutal attack in the community house in Beira we unite our hearts to those of our brothers and sisters in Africa in pain, in prayer and in trust in the one who died violently on the cross forgiving his aggressors. We ask the Lord that wherever death tries to prevail, life may prevail instead.
'If the grain of wheat does not fall to the ground and it dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it bears much fruit' (Jn. 12:24). With the death of Landry, three brothers from the Province of Africa have died in little more than two months. May their lives be the seed for new Christians and new vocations in the Congregation, especially in Africa".
As a General Government we make our own the words of Aurelio Cayón sscc, Provincial of the Iberian, Province - uniting ourselves more than ever to the hopeful love of Jesus.
