UISG Formation Workshops (sisters)

The International Union of Superiors General (UISG) is organizing a series of workshops on Migration and the Challenges for the Christian Community. It is actually a joint initiative of the Immigrants project of the UISG, Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation, and the Scalabrini International Migration Institute.  It is encouraging that the 36th General Chapter has made the theme of Migration one of the priorities and to see that it is also an issue of concern at the level of Religious Life.  On Saturday, January 12, the first of these workshops took place: "The phenomenon of human mobility and the Christian community, between challenges and prophecy", by Aldo Skoda, cs. Goyi, Margarita and Aurora participated on behalf of the General Government, as well as Pilar Ruíz de la Prada, who was in Rome.

Aldo Skoda began his presentation by saying that we are invited to act not for migrants, but with them, and that Pope Francis says it very clearly. He developed the theme based on four points: global migration will continue to mark our future; more and more people are forced to emigrate; the solution has to pass through integral and sustainable development; no one can remain indifferent: what happens in different parts of the world affects us.

This workshop will be followed by others: "Biblical paths of reflection on human mobility", "The Church's teaching on migrants and refugees", "Thinking about the future, acting now: routes of welcome and integration".
