Closing of the Canonical Visit to the Pacific – USA Territory (Sisters)

On Sunday, April 24, the closing of the canonical visit to the Pacific – USA Territory took place with an Assembly. The sisters of Hawaii gathered at Malia O Ka Malu and the sisters of Massachusetts joined through Zoom.

It was a time to reflect on fraternity, using Pope Francis' encyclical, Fratelli Tutti, as a starting point. In a relaxed and playful atmosphere, all the sisters participated and shared their wise contributions.

On Tuesday the 26th, Patricia and Aurora shared with Irene and Regina what they had perceived in the visit, thanking not only the welcome, but all the work that the sisters are doing on behalf of the Congregation.

They then met with Bishop Larry Silva, sharing the work and importance of the Congregation and the sisters in the diocese.

Finally, on the evening of the 27th, all the sisters of Hawaii gathered at Regina Pacis for an evening party in which Patricia delighted the sisters with a piano recital. The sisters from Hawaii enlivened the evening with typical Hawaiian songs and dances, which were joined by songs from other parts of the world: Chile, Portugal, Japan, China, Indonesia, Spain, Rapa Nui... A very international evening, which ended with a succulent dinner, where once again, the spirit of Aloha and Ohana of this wonderful land was felt.

Mahalo to all the sisters for their enthusiasm in the mission and for the welcome given to the visitors.
