The Region of Paraguay had its annual meeting in Asunción from 18 to 20 December, during which time an election was also held. Miguel Ángel CASTRO, 48 years old Paraguayan, was elected as Regional Superior. The two elected councilors are Ramón Arnaldo JARA LÓPEZ (37, Paraguayan) and Maximino PEÑA (48, Paraguayan). Torre José Ramón Marín ("Toto") received a note of thanks for his years of service as regional superior.
Marcus Vinicius Maciel, the provincial of Brazil, the province to which the region belongs, participated in the assembly, besides the elections the brothers also worked on a new project of Apostolic Religious Life (PARL) of the region for the next six years. The recent General Chapter has enlightened the process.
During the same days the sisters of Paraguay-Boliviaalso had their assembly and provincial chapter. The second phase of their provincial chapter was aimed at implementing the guidelines of the last General Chapter. Stein Sérgio ss.cc. (Brazil) was responsible for its facilitation.
