After finishing their theological studies at the Pontifical Theological University of Kentungan, Jogyakarta, David Adrianus Nautani and Wulfstan Harris Soerianto were ordained deacons at St. Paul's Chapel, Kentungan by Archbishop Rubyatmoko, Archbishop of Semarang. In this ceremony, which took place on 25 January, the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, several diocesan seminarians were also ordained. Balthasar Mili sscc had earlier accompanied them on a retreat where they deepened their understanding of the meaning of service and the pastoral ministry of the deacon.
