This year, as in previous years, "Damián Joven" conducted summer workshops. They were held from 16 to 20 February in the premises of SSCC Recoleta convent in Lima, Peru.
This service is led by a team of young professionals inspired by the SSCC spirituality. They are responsible for training young people nationally (parishes, schools, advisors and leaders of youth groups, etc.), providing methodological and pedagogical tools for pastoral work.
This training week provided an intensive work with double shifts. The workshops run in the mornings and evenings. Participants are mainly young people from parishes, so this allows each session to be very dynamic. The leadership of the youths was shown in what they contributed in the discussions: questions, challenges, concerns, suggestions, etc. Hence, the “Damián Joven” center once recognizes those great potential of youth does not remain as passive observer, rather accompanies them year after year, walking with them for the past eleven years.
Currently, the head of the Service Center for Youth Ministry "Damián Joven”" is Mr. Rubén Arroyo, and its spiritual counselor is brother Franklin Astorga sscc.
