On 16 December, at the Provincial House in Santiago de Chile, the "Esteban Gumucio Archives" was inaugurated and blessed. This is a project that has a long history and which is on the way to becoming a resource point for the memory and legacy of this religious whose process of canonisation is underway.
Sergio Silva sscc, vice-postulator of the cause for the beatification of Father Esteban, drew attention to the valuable documentary collection on which he has worked. Aníbal Pastor, the person in charge of the "Esteban Gumucio Archives", explained that this project has been carried out using archival techniques and has two main sections: the "documentary collection", which includes writings, books, photographs and audiovisuals, and which totals about 2,000 items; secondly, there is the "collection of articles in trust", which includes some of Father Esteban's personal belongings.
