From February 26th to 29th at the San Damián house in Guayllabamba, 45 minutes from Quito, the SSCC brothers met for the Ecuadorian Zone Assembly. Beginning with the words of Franklin Astorga sscc, Superior of the Andean Province, the first day of work began with the transmission of the chapter decisions.
There were dialogue tables to reflect on the current situation and near future of the Ecuadorian area, following the guidelines of Instrumentum Laboris (a dynamic of discernment in the Synodal Church). Fraternity, spirituality, and the apostolate of the brothers were also topics of sharing. Likewise, the economic report of the works, parishes and communities were presented, along with discussions of new projects and pastoral proposals.
Fraternal moments also accompanied the work, where the brothers took time to celebrate their lives and achievements. In addition, Eucharistic celebrations, adoration and moments of prayer helped to enrich and deepen their spirituality. Finally, the Assembly culminated with the Eucharist presided over by the provincial.
