In the mother house of the Polish Province, in Polanica Zdrój, from the 23 to 28 of July 2017, the brothers gathered for a few days to celebrate the Provincial Retreat. The main theme was the celebration of 200 years of our Constitutions.
On the first day there was a walk to visit the former monastery of the Benedictines in Broumov, in the Czech Republic. Afterwards we enjoyed the "Bohemian life" in a Czech restaurant.
The following day was dedicated to the subjects of the life of the province. The retreata began in the afternoon, centered on our Constitutions. The topics were:
1. The Constitutions in the history of the Congregation;
2. St. Benedict, the father of our Rule;
3. Our mission in the Constitutions of 1990;
4. The unity of the Constitutions of 1825 in relation to the Constitutions of 1990, in response to the decree Perfectae Caritatis and the challenges of our time;
5. The mission of the Polish province and the Constitutions.
On Thursday afternoon there was a special celebration to renew our consecration in which each brother personally made his renewal of vows.
